After the appearance in the Beverly Times of vacation proposals by the Aldermanic Legal

proposed City plan as the vacation policy at the Library has for many years been, after one year --
3 weeks in the summe (since May 26, 1923) and later an added one week in the winter, making 4
weeks which is the usual procedure for most libraries. Mr. Cagan explained that the Staff should
not be subjected to the vacation city ordinance as the set policy and the Custody, management and
control of the Library small be vested in the Board of Trustees and not answerable to the Board of
Aidemen and felt that this matter should be ironed out once and for all The Legal Affairs ComnL
took this matter under advisement.
Mr. Tooracy asked that the Librarian be authorized to act favorable as to the two hours per
week for 3 weeks, the use of the Hall for the Adult education drivers course.
