Thursday, January 21, 1960 4 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Trustees was held at the Library on the above date. Those in
attendance were Mrs. Conrad, Mrs. Cook, Miss Standley, Mr. Hyde, Mr. Lancaster, Mr. Toomey
and Mr. Cagan.
The records of the previous meeting were approved as read as was the Finance sheet given
the balances for the year 1959.
A report tirom Mrs. Pratt was read stating that her association with the Library was one of
pleasure and she has enjoyed her 15 years of service. She offered to volunteer a morning a week to
putting the GeneaJogy Room in order. For this the Trustees expressed deep appreciation.
At Mrs. Palmer's request for payment of her car insurance, $64.50, because of such a late
notice of her termination, it was VOTED to pay the insurance.
The Administration Committee had no reports at this time. The Librarians Reports were
read and approve&
The Annual Report was read and accepted, one copy to go to the Mayor one copy for the
City Hall Printer and one copy for the press.
After discussion of accepting the application of Mrs. Helen V. Costclio, for Junior Desk
Clerk, it was VOTED to accept Mrs. Costello's application for a trial period of six months Feb. 15
to Aug. 15 at $51.00 per week at which time a re-evaluation will he made.
There was a discussion of Trust Funds. Mr. Hyde explained that he and Mr. Pierce had met
with Mr. Burton Phillips, who is one of the Commissioners of Trust Funds, and at present not
much can he accomplished, however his Committee will review this matter further.
At Mr. Toomey's motion it was VOTED to draw up a legal paper to instruct the City
Treasurer to transfer the balance of the Whirmarsh Fund into the hands of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Cagan will draw up the paper with legal wording.
