Budget Meeting October 25, 1960
A budget meeting was held on the above date at 4 P. M. at the Library.
Those in attendance were Mrs. Conrad, Mr. Cagan and Mr. Brown.
As the Staff salaries $57,358 were already set by the Mayor, after study, the amount set for pages was
$7,894 plus $2652 for an Asst. Library Desk Clerk, plus $2652 for an Asst. Special Services Librarian
made a total of $70,550. However if an Asst. Special Services Librarian is allowed, $1875 can be
deducted from page amount as this amount was expended to Oct. 1 for the bookmobile.
The amount set for Maintenance was $21,075. As lighting cost is $130 per month, telephone $30.85
per month and office supplies must include charging machine rental and supplies and plastic covers,
$1500 is definitely needed for lighting, $375 for telephone and $3000 for Office supplies.
Other outlays to be considered are: New charging desk at Main Library, $1000; material for 6 YPR
tables and an addition to the card cabinet 27 drawers $356. The total budget would be Salaries
$70,556, Maintenance $21,O75 and other Total
These amounts were set by the Budget Committee to be voted on at the Nov. 17th Trustees Meeting.
