The matter of getting dog tax money from the School Department was discussed. As the
dog tax is a county tax, in some counties divided with the schools and libraries, Mr. Toomey will
inquire as to why it cannot be all given to the Library.
The Librarian's report giving activities of the month was read and placed on file.
VOTED: to open the Farms Library Hall for the Farms children, the night before July 4th.

something desirable, such as pictures, etc.
Mr. Tooracy spoke of a leak at the Fanus Branch which he will attend to.
The bookmobile then came up for discussion. Mr. Toomey had all information and
estimated costs. Obtaining enough money from Trust Funds was discussed. A question did arise as
to the availability of such and Mr. Cagan will inquire and Mr. Tooracy will follow up. In two
weeks there should be something definite.
Mrs. Conrad reported of an anonomous gift of $500 to be used only toward bookmobile. It
was VOTED: to establish a Bookmobile Fund. $2800 to $3000 was the estimated cost of the
truck, including shelves. The $500 could be a start.
Mr. Hyde reported as to the model bookcase on exhibit and explained that he would like to
have the Trade School do the work, the cost would be only the material. He then presented this
bookcase to the Library.
Mr. Cagan stated that he would work on by-laws and rules and have ready soon.
Mr. Toomey spoke of a Ford Foundation exlu'bit which Mr. Charles Bucci would like to
have on display at the Library. It was left for Mr. Bucci to contact the Librarian.
After the business meeting, Miss Kline was asked to be present to explain as to some
publicity that had been sent to the local paper. The feeling of some was that it was not suitable
coming from a Public Library. After discussion, a motion was made and SO VOTED: ANY public
release shall be prepared by a Staff Member designated by the Head Librarian and shah be
approved by the Head Librarian
After some further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 10 P.M.
