Beverly, April 24, 1952
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held in Thursday, April 24, at 7:30 P.M.
with only four members present: Mr. Delaney, Chairman, and Messrs. Boyden, Rowe and Zeilon.
The records of the meeting of March 27 were read and approved, as was the report of the
Finance Committee giving expenditures to date..
Mr. Delaney reported, for the Administration Committee, that the Guild of Beverly Artists,
in appreciation of the privilege of using the Hall at the Main Library for their coming exhibition, had
offered to paint the walls of the room, to make a more satisfactory background. This offer was
approved by the Board.
Mr. Delaney then spoke of the question of filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of
Miss Woodbury, and it was voted to put Miss Florence Pinciaro, a part time worker, onto the Staff
at a salary of $1,700.00, to do part of the work formerly done by Miss Woodbury, leaving it to Mr.
Delaney and Miss Stanton to readjust the more technical duties of her position between two other
members of the Staff at a slight increase in salary.
It was voted to obtain figures and rough estimates on heating, lighting and painting to be
discussed at the next meeting, in order that a list of much needed repairs, with estimates, could be
made out and presented to the Mayor as Special Repairs to the Building; in addition to the mount
included in the regular budget for the year.
It was also voted to have new signs made specifying Library hours, for the Main Library and
the Farms, if the old ones could not be repainted.
The Circulation Committee reported the pureh0se of 292 books and the acceptance of 6 gifts.
This was approved.
The Librarian's report was presented and placed and file.
