The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday,
September 24th, at 4 P.M. with Miss Lofing, Mrs. Motley, Messrs. Delaney, Small, Porter, Rowe and
Pond in attendance.
The records of the meeting of August 27 were read, and a vote was taken to approve all
action taken by the Trustees at that meeting at which there was not a quorum present. Mr. Small presented the monthly statement of the Finance Committee.
Voted: to approve the same and to authorize the Secretary to forward to the Mayor the
request for the transference to maintenance item, of the surplus amount in the Salary Appropriation.
The Administration Committee reported that all repairs undertaken were completed or nearly
so completed, and they expected, soon to call for bids for the iron railway on the front steps at the
Main Library.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 89 titles and the receipt of 3
gifts.
Voted: that this recommendation be approved.
The report of the Librarian outlining activities for the winter months was read and placed on
file.
