Loring, James A. Cronin, Thomas F. Delaney, and William A. Rowe Board members absent: Caleb B. Hood, Marian P. Motley, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, Fred H. Porter, and Robert O. Small Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, July 30, 1931 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, July 30, with Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, and Messrs. Porter, Delaney and Small present. The records of the meeting of June 25 were read and approved. Mr. Small presented the report of the Finance Committee for the month of July. He also informed the Board of the suggestion of Mayor Torrey that Miss Prince be granted, out of the surplus of salary money due to Miss Woodbury's illness, the increase of $100.00 originally asked for on the budget for 1931 - this to go into effect as of July 1 st 1931. After informal discussion it was voted that this be done. It was voted, also, that Pages and part-time Assistants, employed by the hour, be paid only for services actually rendered. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 170 titles and the acceptance of 49 gifts. Voted that this recommendation be accepted. The Administration Committee reported on the progress of repairs being made at the Farms Branch and outlined needed repairs to be done at a later date. The report of the Librarian was read and approved. Voted to adjourn Adjourned Marjorie H. Stanton Secretary
