Loring, James A. Cronin, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, and William A. Rowe Board members absent: Thomas F. Delaney, Caleb B. Hood, Fred H. Porter, Robert O. Small, and Marjan P. Motley Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly February 26, 193 1 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, February 26th, at 4 P.M. There were present Mrs. Motley, Messrs. Pond, Porter, Small and Rowe. In the absence of Miss Loring, Mr. Small was elected Chairman pro tem. The records of the meeting of January 29th were read and approved. Mr. Small presented the February statement of the Finance Committee, after which he made detailed report on the budget for this year, pointing out items in which increases had been granted and explaining that the one hundred dollar cut in the salary budget was on the item of proposed increase of salary for Miss Prince of the Children' s Department. It was suggested that $500 be used for repairs at Beverly Farms, since that sum had been granted for that express purpose. Upon request of the Librarian, it was voted that a sum not exceeding $500 might be used from the Trust Funds during 1931 for professional improvement. The Circulation Committee recommended the purchase of 54 titles and the receipt of 41 gifts. Voted: that this recommendation be accepted. The report of the Librarian was read and placed on file; after which, since there was no further business, it as voted that the meeting be adjourned. Adjourned Marjorie H. Stanton Secretary
