1919-04-09 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 09/04/1919 Place: Mayor's Office, City Hall Board members present: William R. Driver, Charles H. Henderson, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, and Louis D. Webber Board members absent: Florence W. Braden, Lawrence A. Ford, Helen L. Marsters, and Elizabeth P. Sohier Others present: Recorder: Charles H. Henderson Beverly Sept. 4th 1919 Upon the request of His Hon. The Mayor a special meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Mayor's Office, City Hall. Meeting called to order at 8 P.M. by Chairman Driver, there being present Messrs. Driver, Kilham, Webber & Henderson and Miss Loring. The business for which the meeting was called was to act upon and approve the action of the City Council as expressed by them in the following vote - as passed by them -to wit - By the City Council Voted- "That the sale - by Geo. A. Vickery surviving Trustee of the Will of the late Joseph W. Lefavour of certain Real Estate (here-in-after described) in which by said Will one undivided third is devised to the City of Beverly for the benefit of its Public Library - to Louise Rosenthai of Boston in the county of Suffolk in said Commonwealth for the sum of $70,000.00 be and is here-by confirmed" Above vote having been passed by the City Council it came before the Board of Trustees of the Public Library for their approval. By the Board of Trustees it was voted- To approve and accept the same and the Sec.was instructed to place a full copy of above vote on file with records of the Library. Voted to adjourn C.H.
