A meeting of the Trustees of Beverly Public Library was duly held at the Library on Saturday
the 24th day of June, 1916 at 3:30 o'clock p.m.
There were present of the Board Mr. Driver, Miss Loring, Miss Sohier, Mr. Kilham, Mr.
Woodberry, Mr. Webber.
In the absence of the Secretary, Mr. Webber was chosen Secretary pro tem.
The records of the last meeting were read and approved.
On motion it was
Voted to proceed to the organization of the Board.
Written ballot being had, all the votes cast were in favor of William R. Driver for Chairman
and Louis H. Baker for Secretary and they were declared duly elected as Chairman of the Board and
Secretary, respectively.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 26 titles and reported the
receipt of these gifts: whereupon it was, on motion,
Voted:
That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation with respect to 26 titles,
be adopted and that the thanks of the Board be extended to those who have made gifts.
On motion it was
Voted:
That the matter of the installation of a telephone at Beverly Farms Branch be referred to Mr.
Webber for action.
On motion it was
Voted:
That the compensation of Miss Culbert, Librarian at Beverly Farms Branch be increased to
the rate of $500 per year from July 1st 1916, and that her hours of service be 32 hours per week.
The Finance Committee made a report of the financial condition to July 1 including notice
from the City Clerk of the appropriation by the City Council of the sum of $59.75 for the installation
and maintenance of an electric lamp at the Beverly Farms Branch Library.
On motion it was
Voted Voted to adjourn.
