1916-25-03 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 03/25/1916 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Louis H. Baker, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, Louis D. Webber, Margaret Whitney, and George E. Woodberry Board members absent: Lawrence A. Ford Others present: Recorder: Louis H. Baker A meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was duly held on Saturday the 25th day of March 1916, at 3:30 o'clock p.m. There were present of the Trustees, Mr. Driver, Miss Loring, Miss Sohier, Miss Whitney, Messrs. Kilham, Webber, Woodberry and Baker. The records of the last meeting were read and approved. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 47 titles and reported the receipt of one gift: whereupon, on motion, it was Voted: That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation with reference to 47 titles, be adopted and that the thanks of the Trustees be extended for the gift received. The Committee on Circulation made a report in regard to the arrangement with the New Fiction Library. On motion it was Voted: That the amount of the subscription for the current year to the New Fiction Library be increased from $175 to $250. The Finance Committee made a report in regard to the division of expenditures for the ensuing year based upon the expenses of previous years and considered with relation to the amount available for this year under the appropriation of the City. On motion it was Voted: That the compensation of Miss Elsie Woodberry an Assistant Librarian, be fixed at the rate of $500 per year beginning April 1st 1916.
