1916-26-02 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 02/26/1916 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Louis H. Baker, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, Louis D. Webber, Margaret Whitney, and George E. Woodberry Board members absent: Lawrence A. Ford Others present: Recorder: Louis H. Baker A meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was duly held on Saturday the 26th day of February, 1916, at 3:30 o'clock p.m. There were present of the Trustees; Mr. Driver, Miss Loring, Miss Sohier, Miss Whitney, Messrs. Kilham, Webber, Woodberry and Baker. The records of the last meeting were read and approved. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 66 titles, including the Teachers and Pupils Cyclopedia in six volumes, and reported the gift of nine (9) titles. Whereupon, on motion it was Voted: That the recommendation of the Committees on Circulation with reference to 66 titles be adopted and that the thanks of the Trustees be extended to those who have made gifts. The Finance Committee made a report on the financial condition. The special Committee on organization reported the need of extra work at the Farms Branch preliminary to moving into the new building and on motion it was Voted: That the matter of extra work at the Farms Branch preliminary to moving, be referred to Miss Loring with power to act. On motion it was Voted: That the schedule of working hours of the librarian and assistants at the Central Library be arranged on the basis of forty two (42) hours service per week by each person. On motion it was Voted: That the matter of continuing the opening of the Library on Sunday be referred to the Chairman of the Committee on Administration with power to act.* On motion it was Voted: That the Committee on Circulation take trader consideration the advisability of increasing the subscription to the New Fiction Library.
