Review ofevents sinee last meeting: Routine matters of little consequence Policy relative to requirement for vaults: Review of responses to letter. It was suggested that Beverly Cemeteries enter the trade of selling Cement grave liner boxes. A modest inventory could be maintained and with reasonable mark-on to our cost, a modest profit could be made to support cemetery operations and other special projects. It was noted that Salem has such a program. The notion was adopted that instituting liner sales could commence with effective date of new price schedule. Approved 3-0 4. Presentation of new cemetery rates: To be submitted to City Council (attached) Review financial spreadsheet: City cemeteries are operating at break even through operating rovenues. This is so despite the adoption of outside contracts for all operations, i.e. Interment services and grounds care. Cemeteries are stiff dependent on the city for plowing and rubbish pickup. Nonetheless, a rate increase will yield operating surpluses which can be invesU:d in projects as directed by the Board of Managers. 6. New business: PBS directed to review city practice and policy relative to burial of indigents, Specifically relative to payment ofopeulng fees and liner costs. 8.
