Benjamin R. Bulkeley, Edward L. Giddings, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, and George E. Woodberry Board members absent: Allen H. Bennett, Charles L. Dodge, and Joseph D. Tuck Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly Sept. 17 1898 A special meeting of the Trustees was held on the above date. Present Messrs. Driver, Giddings, Woodberry, Bulkeley and Misses Sohier and Loring. On motion of Mr. Bulkeley, it was Voted That a standing committee be appointed by the President to be known as the Committee on Circulation consisting of three members of the Board; that this committee be charged specially with the oversight of the use and circulation of the books and other printed matter of the Library, with the recommendation of all books for purchase and all periodicals for subscription. It was, Voted That the lists referred to in the vote of Sep. 30 1898 be referred to the committee on circulation. On motion of Mr. Giddings, it was Voted That the Salary of Miss Bennett, assistant at the Farms Branch be fixed at Two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) per year from September 1st 1898. On motion of Miss Loring, it was Voted That the matter of employment of an assistant during the temporary absence of the Librarian or assistant Librarian be referred to the Committee on Administration. Committee on Circulation, Mr. Woodberry, Miss Sohier, Mr. Bulkeley, Miss Sohier having declined Miss Lofing was appointed. Charles L. Dodge Secretary
