1914-27-06 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 06/27/1914 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Rev. Benjamin R. Bulkeley, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, and Louis D. Webher Board members absent: Louis H. Baker, Charles L. Dodge, and George E. Woodberry Others present: Recorder: Louis H. Baker A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Saturday the 27th day of June, 1914, at 3:30 o'clock pm. There were present of the Trustees, Misses Loring, Miss Sohier, Messrs. Bulkeley, Driver, Kilham and Webber. In the absence of the Secretary, the reading of the records of the last meeting was dispensed with. The Committee on Circulation reported the purchase of twenty seven (27) titles, new books, and the receipt by gift of two titles. The proposed purchase of certain books was referred to the Committee on Circulation with power to cat. The proposed purchase of "Story of American Expansion" was also referred to the Committee on Circulation. In the matter of the hours of closing the Library during the summer season, referred to the Committee on Circulation at the meeting of June 6; the Committee reported its recommendation that there be no charge in the hours of opening and closing. On motion it was Voted: That the recommendation of the Committee be adopted. The Committee on Finance reported upon the financial condition of the Library at the close of the six months ending June 30, 1194. The matter of vacations of the janitor was referred to Messrs. Webber and Kilham with power to act. Mr. Louis H. Baker was chosen secretary pro tempore an account of the illness of Col. Dodge. The Board approved the subscription for "Illustrazione."
