The regular meeting of the Trustees occurred on the above date.
Present Miss Loring and Messrs. Driver, Bulkeley, Webber and Dodge.
The record of the last meeting was read and approved.
A communication from the City Clerk informing the board that the vacancies had been filled
by the appointment and confirmation of Miss Katharine P. Loring
Miss Elizabeth P. Sohier
and Allen H. Bennett
for the terms of three years from Jan. 31 st, 1912.
The board proceeded to organize by the choice of William R. Driver as Chairman and
Charles L. Dodge as Secretary for the ensuing year.
Voted To accept the report of the committee on circulation with reference to 50 titles present.
The following gifts were accepted and acknowledge.
The Heart of Us by T. A. Sullivan from Mr. Francis Blake, Weston, Mass.
Wendell Phillips by Wendell Phillips Stafford from the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People, 20 Vesey St., New York City.
"The Farmer Boy" from the Right Reverend A. R. Graves, Coronado, California.
War Letters of William Thompson Lusk from William Chittendon Lusk, 47 East 34th St., New York
City.
History of the Public Library of the City of Boston from the Trustees of the Boston Public
Library, Copley Square, Boston.
Voted That the Board of Trustees accept with thanks the foregoing gifts and that the secretary be
authorized to acknowledge them.
Voted That the committee on circulation be authorized to expend $30.00 for the purchase of such
books on Mechanical Arts as they may deem expedient.
