1911-27-05 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 05/27/1911 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Rev. Benjamin R. Bulkeley, Charles L. Dodge, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Soblet, Louis D. Webbet and George E. Woodberry Board members absent: Allen H. Bennett Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly May 27th 1911 The regular meeting of the Trustees occurred on the above date. Present Misses Loring and Sohier, Messrs. Driver, Woodberry, Kilham, Bulkeley, Webber and Dodge. Voted To accept the report of the committee on circulation with reference to 24 titles present and 25 additional to come. Voted That the matter of procuring a set of the stereopticon views that were shown here by the agent, Mr. Cunningham, be referred to Miss Loring to make a selection, with the understanding that there is to be no expense to the Library. Voted That the following report of the committee on circulation be accepted and their recommendation be adopted, viz. Mr. Woodberry offered the following motion which was accepted and referred to the chairman, viz. That a special committee of three of which the chairman shall be the presiding officer, be appointed to consider matters of detail, with reference to the new library building, and with special reference even to the future needs of the Library. The Board having received a liberal offer from Robert H. Bancroft, Esq. of One thousand dollars for the purpose of purchasing books of reference. It was Voted That this matter be referred to Miss Loring to obtain a definite purpose for its application. Adjourned Charles L. Dodge Secretary
