The regular meeting of Trustees occurred on the above date.
Present Misses Loring and Sohier, Messrs. Kilham, Bulkeley, Webber, and Dodge.
The chaim~an being absent on account of business, Mr. Bulkeley was elected Chairman "pro
tern."
The record of the last meeting was read and approved.
A communication form the City Clerk informing the board that Messrs. Dodge, Kilham and
Webber had been appointed and confirmed as Trustees of the Beverly Public Library for
three years from January 31st 1911, was read and paced on file.
Voted To accept the report of the committee on circulation with reference to 14 titles present with
4 additional to come.
Voted That the volume "Songs and Lyrics from the Swedish" by Oscar William Peterson,
Translator, be referred to the committee on circulation.
Voted That we accept the biography emitled the descendants of Edward Small of New England and
the "Allied Families", presented by Miss Lora Altine Woodbury Underhill and that the
secretary be requested to acknowledge the gift.
Voted To accept the report of the committee to whom was referred the subject of securing the
abandoned Council Chamber for a reading room. That in theirjudgement they do not think
it expedient.
Voted That the same committee appointed Sep 24th 1910 to appear before the Board of Aldermen
with regard to a new Library building, serve in the same capacity for 1911.
Voted That the matter of purchasing a new carpet for the delivery room be referred to the committee
on administration.
The following motion was offered by Miss Sohier "That the committee on circulation
consider the expediency of opening the library on Saturday mornings, and whether to can be
accomplished without additional expense or increasing the hours of the librarians. And report
at the next meeting read and referred to the committee on circulation.
