1910-25-06 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 06/25/1910 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Rev. Benjamin R. Bulkeley, Charles L. Dodge, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, and Louis D. Webber Board members absent: Allen H. Bennett, and George E. Woodberry Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly June 25 1910 The regular meeting of the Trustees occurred on the above date. Present Misses Loring and Sohier, Messrs. Driver, Bulkeley, Kilham, Webher and Dodge. The record of the last meeting was red and approved. Voted To accept the report of the committee on circulation with reference to 22 titles present. Voted That the committee Messrs. Kilham and Webber, on securing the room in rear of the library, be granted extension of time. Voted That the Sec'y be requested to communicate with the chairman of the committee on Public Property with reference to calling a meeting of conference with Messrs. Kilham and Webher in regard to securing the room in the rear of the library for its use. Voted That the Sec'y respectfully request of the Mayor that a conference may be called of the City Council and Trustees of the Library with reference to the erection of a building for the Public Library. Voted That the recommendation of the committee in respect of the hours of service that they be 48 per week be amended to read 45 hours per week. Adopted. Voted The Secy. convey to Mr. John M. Lynch Asst. Sup. of the U.S.M.C. the thankful appreciation of the Board of Trustees for service rendered by him in making a selection of Technical and scientific books for the Library, to meet the increased demand for books of that character. Voted That the committee on circulation be requested to consider the advisability of establishing a book deposit station at the U.S.M.C. Co's works, which if favorably considered, to ask for suggestions as the best method of so doing. Voted That the Springfield Republican be added to the list of papers. Adjourned Charles L. Dodge Sec'y
