1909-29-05 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 05/29/1909 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Rev. Benjamin R. Bulkeley, Charles L. Dodge, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, and Louis D. Webber Board members absent: Allen H. Bennett, and George E. Woodberry Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly May 29th 1909 The regular meeting of the Trustees occurred on the above date. Present Misses Loring and Sohier, Messrs. Driver, Bulkeley, Kilham, Webber and Dodge. Mr. Driver in the chair. The reading of the records of the last meeting ere read and approve& On page 20 will be found a communication from the City Clerk announcing the confirmation of Misses Loring, & Sohier and Mr. Bennett as Trustees for 3 years form Jan. 31 1909. Voted That we proceed to organize for 1909 by a choice of Chairman and Secretary. William R. Driver was elected chairman Charles L. Dodge was elected Secretary Voted That we accept the report of the committee on circulation with reference to 47 titles. Voted That further consideration ob the purchase of "Nelsons Perpetual Encyclopedia" be postponed. Voted That the same arrangements as to hours of closing and leaved of absence be continued as of 1908. Viz. And for 1909. Voted That the library be closed at 8 o'clock every evening except Saturday evening from June 15 to September 15th. Voted That during the months of July and August the reading rooms int he Endicott Building be closed at 6 o'clock every evening except Saturday evening. When it will be open until nine o'clock. Voted That until October 1 st the librarian and each assistant librarian have one evening each week after 6 o'clock. These votes are to obtain for 1909. Charles L. Dodge Secretary
