Present:. Commissioner's Barnico, Dean, Duval, Eaton, Farmer, Lydon, Mahoney
and Bite.
Absent: Commissioner's Archer, Gourdeau and Rosen.
Public: Victor Capozzi and Ken Robinson
A. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Farmer called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
1. Presentations: Mark Foster, FEMA - Mr. Foster showed the Commission a video
explain'~mg FEMAs emergency role in the community and explained FEMA's
equipment acquisition process. Mr. Foster answered several questions of the
Commission regarding FEMA's budget and also explained the support they give the
airport.
2. Reading of the Minutes: Chairman Farmer called for a reading of the Minutes of the
Regular Meeting of June 9, 1997. Motion to accept by Commissioner Mahoney, 2nd
by Commissioner Duval. Motion passed unanimously.
3o Reading of the Financial Report: Chairman Farmer called for a reading of the
Financial Report for June 1997. Motion to accept subject to audit made by
Commissioner Duval, 2nd by Commissioner Lydon. Motion passed unanimously.
B. OLD BUSINESS
1. Property Acquisition - Airport Manager Mezzetti reported that City Council had
approved the first reading regarding acquisition in fee of the Murrin property and
acquiring a Gongas avigation easement through condemnation.
2. Snow Removal Equipment Acquisition Update - Airport Manager Mezzetti reported
that a purchase order had been sent for the front end loader and delivery should be
around October/November 1997.
3. Sam Fonzo/Industrial Park Update- Airport Manager Mezzetti reported that the latest
revised report was being sent overnight mail form Duffesne-Henry to the Mayor.
comrdissioner Eaton reported that DEP was going to do a site inspection on July 23,
1997 and possibly a superseded Order of Conditions might be issued. Discussion was
also had on the need for Airport water and sewer to be done in the first phase.
4. Gurnardff Ford Update - Airport Manager reported that lease meeting between T
Ford and City was still needed. T. Ford has been concentrating his efforts in survey
and engineering work needed for a permit hearing on August 15, 1997. Airport
Manager will work towards lease being ready at same time permits are issued.
5. West Side Water/Sewer Line- Airport Manager Mezzetti informed the Commission
that the re-construction meeting would be held that week or the following week.
C. NEW BUSINESS
· Airport Manager' s Annual Increase - Chairman Farmer said he would take
Commission review comments up until Friday, July 18, 1997 at which time he would
meet with the Airport Manager.
D. AIRPORT MANAGER's REPORT
· Airport Manager's report was contained in the July 14th B.A.C. meeting packets. The
Airport Manager also bought up three new items as below:
1. Rwy 16 Final Cut - Dufresne-Henry will submit paperwork to Wenham Con Corn to
allow us to make a final cut, then reseed with wetland mix.
2. FAA Airport Inspection will be on August 5, 1997.
3. Northeast Airports Meeting - Minion made by Commissioner Eaton, 2nd by
Commissioner Barnico for the Airport Manager to attend the Northeast Chapter of the
American Association of Airport Manager's Meeting August 16-20, 1997 at a cost of
$200.00 for registration and $50.00 per day expenses. Motion passed unanimously.
E. CHMRMAN/COMMISSION COMMENTS
· Chairman Farmer said his best memories of the airport will be the flagpole dedication
and the helicopter dedication.
· Chairman Farmer requested that the Airport Manager get a letter from Wayside
Transcorp stating that none of their on airport containers contain any hazardous
substances.
· Commissioner Bamico updated the Commission on the May M.A.C meeting.
F. ADJOURNMENT
· Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Duval, 2nd by Commissioner Barnleo.
Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
