1908-23-05 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 05/23/1908 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: William R. Driver, Rev. Benjamin R. Bulkeley, Joseph C. Kilham, Katharine P. Loring, Elizabeth P. Sohier, and Louis D. Webber Board members absent: Allen H. Bennett, Charles L. Dodge, and George E. Woodberry Others present: Recorder: Charles L. Dodge Beverly May 23d 1908 The regular meeting of the Trustees occurred on the above date. Present Misses Loring and Sohier and Messrs. Driver, Bulkeley, Kilham and Dodge. The records of the last meeting were read and approved. Voted To accept the report of the committee on circulation with reference to 13 titles present. Voted That the same arrangements as of 1907 be continued for 1908 as to hours of closing at the library and reading rooms, and leaves of absence during certain periods. viz. Voted That during the months of July and August, the reading rooms in the Endicott building be closed at 6 o'clock every evening except Saturday evening, when it will be open till 9 o'clock. Voted That the library be closed at 8 o'clock every evening except Saturday from June 15th to September 15th. Voted That until Oct. 1 st the librarian and such assistant librarians have one evening each week after 6 o'clock. The Secretary offered his protest with regard to the report of the special committee on readjustment of the salaries of the librarians and assistants at the main library, as per their petition on file.
