Loring, Marian P. Motley, Fred H. Porter, William A. Rowe, and Robert O. Small Board members absent: Thomas F. Delaney, Caleb B. Hood, Helen L. Marsters, and Rev. Clarence S. Pond Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, September 26, 1929 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, September 26th at 4 P.M. There were present of the Board, Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, and Messrs. Small, Porter, and Rowe. The records of the meeting of June 28th were read and approved. Mr. Small presented the September statement of the Finance Committee, and Miss Loring the report of the receipts and expenditures of the Pay Collection at Beverly Farms, for the year ending September 25th, 1929. It was voted to accept both these reports. The Circulation Committee reported the purchase of 583 titles and the receipt of 155 gifts during the months of July and August; and recommended the purchase of 86 titles and the receipt of 19 gifts during September. Voted: To accept the report and recommendation of this Committee, and to send the thanks of the Trustees for the gifts received. Voted: to accept the Librarian' s summary of work accomplished since the Trustees' meeting of June 28th, and to place the same on file. Voted: To accept Miss Loring's suggestion that vacation of Library Assistants be regulated by the number of weeks service given to the library during the year. After informal discussions it was voted that the Administration Committee be authorized to engage a janitor for six months, during Mr. Hanners' illness; and that the Secretary of the Board write Mr. Hanners to this effect. Voted: To accept the list submitted by the Committee on Circulation for magazines for the year 1930. A letter from William Larcom, relative to a hearing on his application to maintain a garage at 17 Dane Street was read and placed on file. Voted: To adjourn Adjourned Marjorie H. Stanton Secretary
