1925-26-12City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 12/26/1925 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Katharine P. Loring, Thomas F. Delaney, Caleb B. Hood, Helen L. Marsters, Fred H. Porter, William A. Rowe, Robert O. Small, and Elizabeth P. Sohier Board members absent: Rev. Clarence S. Pond Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, December 26th 1925 Regular meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was held at the Library on Saturday the 26th day of December 1925 at 3:30 P.M. There were present of the Board Misses Loring, Sohier and Marsters, Messrs. Small, Porter, Delaney, Hood and Rowe. The records of the meeting of November 28th 1925 were read and approved. The Finance Committee made a report of the financial condition of the Library to the end of the year. Voted: To accept the report of the Finance Committee for the year. Voted: Voted: To accept the Librarian' s report to date and place same on file. To engage Mrs. Marion T. Rudkin to give story hours at the Centerville and North Beverly Schools. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 12 titles and the receipt of 5 gifts. Voted: That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation be accepted and the thanks of the Trustees be expended for the gifts. The Librarian reported Mrs. Edna F. Hurlburr will commence work July 1926 as a Assistant Librarian (see vote Nov. 28, 1925) The Finance Committee recommended an increase of $200 to the salary account - a total of $13,883.80 and maintenance of $10,154.40 for the budget of 1926. Voted: That $1200 be added to the Salary account to engage another Assistant Librarian. Voted: To accept the budget presented by the Finance Committee for 1926 and the Committee on Finance be authorized to ask for $25,238.20 and one half the dog tax from the City Council $10, 154.40 Maintenance Voted: $15,083.80 Salary $25,238.20 Total To adjourn Adj ourned Helen L.
