1930-01-30City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 01/30/1930 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Katharine P. Loring, Thomas F. Delaney, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, and William A. Rowe Board members absent: James A. Cronin, Caleb B. Hood, Marian P. Motley, Fred H. Porter, and Robert O. Small Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton January 30,1930 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on January 30th, at 4 P.M.; there being present of the Board Miss Loring, Messrs. Delaney, Rowe and Pond. The records of the meeting of December 26 were read and approved. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 191 titles and the receipt of 25 gifts. Voted: That the recommendation of this Committee be accepted, and that the thanks of the Trustees be extended for the gifts received. Voted, further: that especial mention be made of the "Easter Ode", by George Edward Woodberry, presented by Mr. Harry Flagler, of the Woodberry Society in New York; and of an original poem of Mr. Woodberry' s, which was presented to the Library by Miss Katharine Loring. The Report of the Librarian was also read and approved. Voted: to proceed to the organization of the Board. Mr. Pond was empowered to cast one ballot for Chairman and Secretary. Miss Loring was elected Chairman of the Board, and Miss Stanton Secretary.
