Beverly, September 25th 1926
Regular meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was held at the Library on Saturday
the 25th day of September 1926 at 3:30 P.M.
There were present of the Board.
Misses Loring, Sohier and Marsters, Messrs. Small and Rowe.
The records of the meeting of July 17, 1926 were read and approved.
Voted:
To accept the report of the Finance Committee presented by Mr. Small & to adopt its
recommendations.
Voted:
To empower the Secretary of the Board to request the Board of Aldermen for the transfer
from Salary account to Maintenance account $900.
A communication was read from the City Clerk that the sum of $1764.90 received from the Sale and
rent of the "Casali Property" so called had been appropriated to the Library account.
*Voted:
To pay an amount not exceeding $1600 on the principal sum due on a mortgage for $3000
held by Augustus P. Loring Jr. on the so called "Casali Property" situated in the City of Beverly
On Winter St. and numbered six (6) in said Street and abutting property of Beverly Public Library.
Voted:
To apply a sum not exceeding $164.90 for the purpose of care and maintenance of the "Casali
Property" so called.
*Voted:
That an amount not exceeding $400 shall be withdrawn from the Trust Funds of the Beverly
Public Library and be applied to the reduction of the principal sum on a mortgage of $3000 held by
A. P. Loring Jr. on the so called "Casali Property" situated in the City of Beverly, Mass. here in
before mentioned.
Voted:
To accepted the Librarian's report to date and place same on file.
Miss Loring reported that the sum of $508.03 had been expanded for the Ryal Side Branch
established on August 23 1926.
Voted:
That the Secretary of the Board be authorized to convey the thanks of the Trustees to
Miss Hannah Edwards for her gift of $50 to the Beverly Farms Branch.
Voted:
To accept the list submitted by the Committee on Circulation for magazines for the year
1927. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 85 titles and the receipt of 29
gifts.
Voted:
That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation be accepted and the thanks of
the Trustees be extended for the gifts.
