Loring, Thomas F. Delaney, Marian P. Motley,, Fred H. Porter, and William A. Rowe Board members absent: Caleb B. Hood, Helen L. Marsters, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, and Robert O. Small Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, July 28th 1927 Regular meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was held at the Library on Thursday the 28th day of July 1927 at 4 P.M. There were present of the Board. Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, Messrs. Delaney, Rowe & Porter. The records of the meeting of June 30th 1927 were read and approved. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 44 titles and the receipt of 12 gifts. Voted: To approve same. The Administration Committee reported the repairs on the roof had been completed satisfactorily. A request from the Fire Department was read asking the Trustees to pay one half of a bill of $132.00 for boiler repairs at the Beverly Farms Engine House. So voted. Treasurer report read and accepted. Voted: That the Chairman write Mayor Stofford calling attention to the low yield on new investments by Trust Fund Commissioners. "That we should have to ask for more money next year to make up loss of interest." Voted: To purchase a typewriter which will do the work suited to new audit provisions. Voted: To give Mr. Moses on week's vacation. Librarian' s report read and accepted. Noted loss of attendance in Children' s Department due to closing room - net loss only 400. Voted: For Mrs. Motley to secure shelving necessary for Children's books at Beverly Farms for certificate reading. Provisions of Miss Sohier's will relating to Library read.
