The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Monday evening, November 20,
with Mr. Delaney, Mrs. Conrad, and Messrs. Birmingham, Casey and Foster, Small in attendance.
The records of October 26 were read and all action taken at that meeting was unanimously
ratified.
The Administration Committee reported that except for repairs to a leaky radiator, no work
of any sort had been done during the month.
The Circulation Committee recommended the purchase of 353 books (122 of these being for
the Children' s Department. ) This was approved.
The report of the Librarian, giving details of Library activities during the month was then
presented and placed on file.
Miss Stanton reported that the Deposit at the Centerville School and been reopened, with
Miss Hollis Harrison in charge, and seemed to be having a larger circulation of books than before.
Mr. Birmingham was asked, as a member of the School Board, to look into the matter of
having a hot top walk put in leading to the library room at the read of the building.
The Trustees discussed, item by item, the details of the budget for 1951, as prepared by the
Finance Committee at its meeting on November 14, and the following amounts were voted upon:
Salaries $43,755
Maintenance 15,200
Repairs to the Farms Branch 2,500
It was voted to close the Library during the funeral services of Mr. Rowe, whose death had
occurred on November twentieth and a committee composed of Mrs. Conrad, Mr. Birmingham, and
Mr. Small as Chairman, was asked to write Resolutions expressing the loss which the Library had
sustained.
