Beverly, October 26, 1950
The regular meeting of the Board was held at the Library on Thursday, October 26, at 7:30
P.M. Since only two members of the Board were present - Mr. Delaney and Mr. Boyden - all action
was taken subject to approval at the next meeting of the Board.
The Secretary's report of the meeting of September 28, and the report of the Finance
Committee, were read and approved.
It was voted to accept Miss June Pickering's estimate of $296.50 for the magazine
subscriptions for 1951, and to place with the North Shore News Company of Beverly the newspaper
list for 1951.
A letter from Mrs. Palmer was received, asking if the Trustees could appropriate a small
amount of money toward the purchase of a new car in which she delivers books to shut-ins; but it was
felt that since she received, annually, approximately 475.00 toward the up keep of the car, nothing
further could be done.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 160 title and the acceptance of
six books as gifts. This was approved.
In order to avoid conflict with Thanksgiving and still to allow time for the preparation of the
Annual budget, it was decided to hold the November meeting on Monday, the twentieth.
