The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Thursday, May 25 at 7:30 P.M.,
Mr. Delaney, Mr. Boyden, Mr. Rowe, and Mr. Small being present.
The records of the meeting of April 27 were read and approved.
The report of the Finance Committee, giving details of expenditures and balances to date,
was then presented, discussed, and approved.
Mr. Delaney reported that he and Miss Stanton had called on the Mayor again, with the
request for a supplementary budget, and that the order had been approved by the City Government
though the Trustees had not yet been officially notified.
Mr. Delaney reported, for the Administration Committee, that the front door, vestibule, space
in from of and behind the Main Desk, were badly in need of painting. He was authorized to advertise
for bids for this work; and if the cost would not be over $500.00, he was authorized to have it done.
The Circulation Committee recommended the purchase of 3 13 titles, 154 of them being
juveniles and the acceptance of 2 gifts. This recommendation was approved.
The report of the Librarian, giving details of circulation at the Main Library and the Deposit
Stations, as well as special activities in the Children's Room was presented and placed on file.
