Loring, James A. Cronin, Thomas F. Delaney, Marian P. Motley, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, Fred H. Porter, Robert O. Small, and Horace W. Woodberry, Jr. Board members absent: Caleb B. Hood Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, March 30, 1933 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, March 30, at4P.M. There were present, of the Board, Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, and Messrs. Porter, Woodberry, Delaney, Small, Pond and Cronin. The records of the meeting of February 23rd were read and approved. Mr. Small the presented the report of the Finance Committee, giving a summary of expenses for the first quarter, and reported that though the budget had not yet been signed, it would probably pass with no further reduction than the cut of $1,200, in maintenance item, made by the Mayor. Upon motion of Mr. Woodberry, this report was approved. It was voted that the Circulation Committee, with the Librarian, prepare a budget of the book funds, and bring in this report for consideration of the Board at its next meeting. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 83 new titles and the receipt of 100 gifts. Voted: that this recommendation be approved. After informal discussion it was voted that requests for use of the Library Halls, for other purposes than those connected with library interests, be referred to the Administration Committee. This Committee was asked to bring in to the next meeting of the Board, their recommendation as to the purposes for which the halls might be used by other organizations, and what charge, if any, should be made.
