The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on December 28th at 4 P.M.
There were present, of the Board, Miss Loring, and Messrs. Porter, Delaney, and Pond.
The report of the Secretary, covering the, meeting of November 28th, was read and approved.
Voted: that the budget for 1934, as prepared by the Finance Committee, be adopted, and the
Finance Committee authorized to appear before the City Government at the proper time, asking for
31,563.00 and one-half the dog tax.
It was voted to continue the services of Mr. Davis in the Farms Reading Room for the months
of January and February; and because of the fact that Mr. Lovett was leaving the Main Library on
December 29th, to try for an indefinite time, the experiment of having a uniformed police officer in
the Reading Room during the evening hours.
The report of the librarian was then read and placed on file.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 57 new titles, and the
acceptance of 11 gifts. Voted: that this recommendation be approved.
