1928-31-05City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes Board: Library Trustees Subcommittee: Date: 05/31/1928 Place: Beverly Public Library Board members present: Katharine P. Loring, Thomas F. Delaney, Caleb B. Hood, Helen L. Marsters, Marian P. Motley, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, William A. Rowe, and Robert O. Small Board members absent: Fred H. Porter Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, May 31st 1928 Regular meeting of the Trustees of the Beverly Public Library was held at the Library on Thursday the 31st day of May 1928 at 4 P.M. There were present of the Board Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, Miss Marsters, Messrs. Small, Delaney, Hood, Pond and Rowe. The records of the meeting of April 26th 1928 were read and approved. Mr. Small presented the May statement of the Finance Committee. Voted: To approve same. Voted: To accept the Librarian' s report to date and place same on file. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 42 titles and the receipt of 111 girls. That the recommendation of the Committee on Circulation be accepted and that the thanks of the Trustees be extended for the 111 gifts. Mr. Delaney reported the following expenses at the Beverly Farms Branch - $925.00 for the new stacks and $400.00 for repairing the roof. He further reported that the expense of repairing the roof at the Main Building was $1000. Voted: To accept report and place same on file. Voted: That the letter as formulated by Mr. Small covering the erection and equipment of the Children' s wing be forwarded to the City Government. Voted: That the Library close at 8 P.M. from June 1st tO September 4 excepting on Saturday when it will close at 9 P.M. Voted: That the next meeting of the Trustees be held July 12 at 4 P.M. and to omit the August meeting of the Trustees. Voted: To allow Miss Helen Aylward to take a summer course at Simmons College with the usual allowance of money and time. Voted: To adjourn Adjourned Helen L. Marsters Secretary
