The regular meeting of the Board was called for Thursday March 25 at 7:30, but all action
taken was subject to ratification at the next meeting of the Board, since only three members - Mr.
Delaney, Mr. Boyden and Mr. Small.
The Secretary' s report of the meeting of February 26th was read and approved.
The report of the Finance Committee giving details of items on the budget for 1948, which
had just been approved by the City Government, was the presented. After discussion, it was
moved to present to the next Board meeting for consideration, the following motion - to be sent,
if approved - to the City Government.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 293 titles, 193 of these being
juveniles. This was approved.
Mr. Delaney also announced that the magazine "Nation's Business" was being presented
to the Library by the
The Report of the Librarian, giving a summary of activities, including attendance at Story
Hours, plans for the Spring Festival in the Children' s Room, etc., was read and placed on file.
Mr. Delaney reported that the Noah Shore Camera Club had asked permission to hold an
exhibition - open to the public - during the early part of May.
This was willingly granted, since the Club would take entire responsibility for the
preparation of the Exhibition, and would pay the janitors for any overtime worked.
