A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called for Monday, December 22, at 7:30
P.M., but since only Mr. Delaney, Mr. Birmingham, and Mr. Foster were present, very little
business was taken up and even this is subject to ratification at the next meeting of the Board.
The report of the meeting of November 28th was read and approved, as was the report of
the Finance Committee giving the summary of expenditures and balances for the whole year.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 54 new titles and the
acceptance of five gifts. This was approved.
The report of the Librarian was then presented and placed on file; and the Annual Report
of the Board, as prepared by Mr. Delaney was read and accepted, and the Librarian was requested
to forward it to the City Government as soon as final figures could be inserted.
It was voted to add to the minimum and maximum of the salary schedule, as established in
the By-laws, the cost of living increase granted by the City Government for the year 1947, making
the schedule now read as follows:
