The records of the meeting of September 25 were read and approved, as was the report of
the Finance Committee giving a detailed account of expenditures to date.
Mr. Delaney reported, for the Administration Committee, that repairs to the plastering at
the Main Library had been completed, and that nothing pressing needed to be done during the
balance of the year.

since the June meeting, 233 of them being for the Children's Department and 16 being gifts.
Voted that this be approved..
After informal discussions it was voted to continue closing on Saturdays at 12 o'clock,
since this seemed to bring no hardship on the public.

$1,600, to begin her duties as soon as possible.
It was voted to subscribe, for 1948, to the same list of newspapers as that taken this year,
and to place the order again with the Merrill Company of Beverly.
The report of the Librarian, giving a summary of the month's activities was read and
placed on file.
The matter of keeping discipline outside the library during the evening hours was
discussed, and the Chairman was asked to see the Chief of Police, to find out if better protection
could not be given.
Since the next regular meeting date would fall on Thanksgiving Day, it was voted to hold
the meeting on the following evening.
