Loring, Thomas F. Delaney, Fred H. Porter, and Robert O. Small Board members absent: James A. Cronin, Caleb B. Hood, Marian P. Motley, Rev. Clarence S. Pond, and William A. Rowe Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, July 28, 1932 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on July 28th at 4 P.M., with Miss Loring, and Messrs. Porter, Delaney, and Small present. The records of the meeting of May 26th were read and approved. Mr. Small presented the monthly report of the Finance Committee, and it was voted to approve the same. He also read two letters which had been received from the Mayor, with reference to the increase in salary provided for in the budget, for Miss Stanton and Miss Allen, but now refused by him. After discussion, it was voted to abide by his wishes in the matter, and to send the following letter in reply;- The report of the Librarian, summarizing the work done in the library since the Trustees meeting of May 26th, and giving a brief account of the Library Conference at Bethlehem, was read and placed on file. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 704 new books - 504 of these being for use in the schools - and the receipt of 130 gifts - 80 for the Main Library and 50 for the Branch at Beverly Farms. Voted: - that the recommendation be approved. After informal discussion, it was decided to hold a Trustees Meeting, as usual, in August. Voted: to adjourn Adjourned Marjorie H. Stanton Secretary.
