Loring, James A. Cronin, Thomas F. Delaney, Caleb B. Hood, Mrs. E. Preble Motley, Sr., Rev. Clarence S. Pond, and Fred H. Porter Board members absent: Robert O. Small and Horace W. Woodberry, Jr. Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton Beverly, January 25, 1934 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Thursday, January 25th, at 4 P.M. There were present of the Trustees Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, Mr. Pond, and Mr. Cronin. Messrs. Porter, Delaney and Hood arrived at 4:30, following a conference with Mayor Eaton on the budget for the year. The records of the meeting of December 28th were read and approved; and the report of the Librarian, giving a summary of statistics for 1933 - including the financial summary - was read and placed on file. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 90 new titles. Voted: that this recommendation be approved. Voted: to proceed to the organization of the Board. Miss Katharine P. Loring was unanimously elected Chairman of the Board, and Marjorie H. Stanton, Secretary. The Chairman then appointed the following Committees for the year: - CIRCULATION COMMITTEE Miss K. P. Loring, Chairman Mrs. E. P. Motley, Sr. Rev. C.S. Pond FINANCE COMMITTEE Mr. R. O. Small, Chairman Mr. F. H. Porter Mr. C. B. Hood Mr. T. F. Delaney ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE Mr. Porter, Chairman Mr. Delaney Mr. J. A. Cronin COMMITTEE ON BRANCHES Rev. C.S. Pond, Chairman Mrs. Motley Mr. H. W. Woodbury, Jr. Since the date of the next regular meeting would fall on February 22nd, it was voted to hold the meeting on Thursday, March first. Voted: to adjourn Marjorie H. Stanton Secretary
