Delaney, and Lawrence E. Foster Board members absent: John C. Birmingham, W. Lincoln Boyden, Jr., Thomas J. Casey, Louisa V. Conrad, William A. Rowe, Robert O. Small, and B. Frederick Yoffa Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton March 28, 1946 A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called for Thursday, March 28, at 7:30 P.M., but since only Mr. Delaney and Mr. Foster were present, all action taken was subject to ratification at the next meeting of the Board. The records of the meeting of February 28 were read and approved, as was the report of the Finance Committee giving a summary of expenditures to date. Mr. Delaney reported, for the Administration Committee that the flag pole had been repainted, and that the eagle, which had blown down, had been put up again. This work was done under the direction of John Murphy. He also reported that bids for a linoleum covering for the work room had been received from The Cabot Furnishing Co ($260.00) and from the Fred Allen Co. ($198.37), but since the former bid included covering for the tables in the workroom, it will be necessary to get an estimate for the floor alone. Mr. Delaney was authorized to buy four chairs for use at the Ryal Side Deposit, to replace ones which had become too weakened for use. The Circulation Committee recommended the purchase of 235 titles and the acceptance of 62 gifts. This was approved. The Librarian's report was read and placed on file. A letter was received from Miss Florence Taylor, submitting her resignation, to take effect on April 27. She is to be married. This was accepted with great regret, since Miss Taylor has been a faithful and loyal assistant since 1924. Mrs. Lois Markey also submitted her resignation, because of ill health and the inability to find the proper person to care for her two children. This was accepted, to take effect at once. Voted to adjourn Adjourned Marjorie H., Stanton
