November 26, 1940
The regular meeting of the Board was held on November 26 at 4 P.M., with Miss Loring,
Mr. Delaney & Mr. Rowe in attendance.
The records of the meeting of October 31 were read and approved, as was the statement
of the expenditures and balances to date.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 223 new titles and the
acceptance of 91 gifts.
A letter was received, from the American Red Cross, asking for the use of the Document
Room as a work and distribution center.
The Trustees voted to allow them the use of the room, provided the Mayor found another
location for the W.P.A. Project now using the room, and provided the Red Cross complied with
the terms suggested in their letter of request.
Mr. Delaney, for the Administration Committee, reported that there had been a leak
around the skylight at the Main Library, and that nothing had yet been done about the terra cotta
at the Farms Branch.
Miss Loring then presented her report of the year' s activities in the Library.
This was accepted as the annual report of the Board of Trustees, and will be forwarded to
the City Government at the proper time.
Voted: that the Finance Committee prepare the budget for 1941, to be submitted for
discussion at the next meeting of the Board.
Voted: to adjourn
