Loring, Thomas F. Delaney, Mrs. E. Prebble Motley, Sr., and William A. Rowe Board members absent: W. Lincoln Boyden, Jr., Thomas J. Casey, Marion Glidden, Moses I. Simon, and Robert O. Stanton Beverly, December 26, 1940 The regular meeting of the Board was held at the Library on Thursday, December 26, at 3:45 P.M., with Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, Mr. Delaney and Mr. Rowe in attendance. The Secretary read the records of the meeting of November 26, at which there had been only three members of the Board present. Voted: to ratify all action taken at the meeting at which there had not been a quorum present. The Finance Committee, through Mr. Delaney, reported that this Committee had held a meeting to prepare the budget for 1941, and were submitting to the Trustees for their consideration, a budget of $33,528.15, an increase of $1500 in Salary Item and $575 for Maintenance. The Trustees voted to adopt this as their budget for 1941 and to send it at the proper time to eh City Government. The unanimous thanks of the Board was extended to the Finance Committee for their report. The Administration Committee reported that the leak at Beverly Farms had been stopped temporarily by the work done by Connolly Brothers and by cleaning the catch basins. More permanent repairs must be done as soon as weather and funds allow. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 298 titles and the receipt of 57 gifts. Voted to adjourn Marjorie H.
