The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on Tuesday, November 28 at 4
P.M., with Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, Messrs. Delaney and Simon in attendance.
The records of the meeting of October 26th were read and approved, as was the statement
of the Finance Committee giving expenditures to date.
The Committee on Administration reported that a new hedge had been set out at Beverly
Farms, at a cost of $60.00 for work along the front as voted at the October meeting, and an
additional cost of $33.00 to replace the hedge from the sidewalk to the front door. This
Committee also reported, informally, that nothing had yet been announced about the W.P.A.
Project of painting the inside of the libraries.
Voted: that the Finance Committee be authorized to prepare the budget for 1940 and
present it for consideration at the December meeting of the Board.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 331 new titles, most of them
books for Childrens Book Week, and the receipt of 7 gifts. Voted: that this recommendation be
approved.
The report of the Librarian was read and placed on file.
The annual report as prepared by Miss Loring was then presented. It was voted that this
be accepted as the Annual Report of the Board of Trustees, to be presented at the proper time to
the City Government.
Voted: that a flag be purchased from the State - Prison Department - to replace the one
that is now worn out.
