The regular meeting of the Board was held on Thursday, October 26th, at 4 P.M., with Mr.
Rowe, Mr. Pond, Miss Loring and Delaney in attendance.
The records of the meeting of September 28th were read and approved, as was the
statement of the Finance Committee giving expenditures to date.
The Administration Committee reported that the W.P.A. Project for painting the libraries
had been sent to Washington for approval.
It was voted that the hedge along the street, at the Farms Branch, should be replaced by
new bushes, if it could be done for Southworth's price of $60.00 and if it were not too late in the
year for it to be done.
Voted: to place the magazine list for 1940 with Leon C. Doble at his price of $274.90, and
the newspaper list with Nathan H. Foster of Beverly, this list to be the same as 1939.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 104 new titles and the
acceptance of 60 gifts. Voted: that this be approved.
It was voted, unanimously, that Miss Loring prepare the Annual Report.
Since the date of the next meeting would fall on November 30th, Thanksgiving Day, it was
voted to hold the November meeting on Tuesday, November 28th.
