Small Others present: Recorder: Marjorie H. Stanton September 29, 1938 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, September 29, at 4 P.M., there being present of the Board Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, Mr. Rowe, Mr. Cronin and Mr. Simon. The records of the meeting of June 30th were read and approved, and it was voted to ratify actions taken at that meeting at which only two members were present. The report of the Librarian, giving details of circulation, registration and other library activities through the last three months was read and placed on file. The Administration reported that cement walks were being put in at the Farms Branch, the material only to be paid for by the Library; and that the Mayor was trying to have the matter of repairs to the Main Library roof taken care of as a W.P.A. Project. The Committee on Circulation reported the accession of 859 titles and the receipt of 129 gifts since the last meeting. This report was approved. Because of the increase in circulation and registration at the Main Library during the year, and the consequent need for more part-time workers, it was voted to ask the City Government for a transfer of $250 from Maintenance Account to Salary Account for the balance of the year. The Committee on Circulation presented the proposed magazine list for 1939. This was approved as read, with slight changes; and it was voted to submit the list to Leon Doble for estimate, his price to be considered at the next meeting of the Board. Mr. Cronin then spoke with regrets of his approaching resignation from the Board due to his new duties in another city - and it was voted that the Secretary send to Mr. Cronin, after his resignation, a note of appreciation for his loyal and helpful service while on the board Voted to adjourn Adjourned Marjorie H.
