The May meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on the 26th of the month, at 4
o'clock, with Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, Messrs. Rowe, Delaney, Simon and Pond in attendance.
The records of the April 28th were read and approved, as was the statement of the Finance
Committee giving expenditures to date.
The Committee on Administration gave an informal report of the repairs which should be
made during the year, and of the urgent need of a new roof at the Main Library.
It was decided, after informal discussion, to instruct Miss Culbert to keep the door
between the back hall and the stacks locked, as well as the outside back door, to prevent persons
entering.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 99 new titles and the receipt
of 57 gifts. Voted: that this be approved.
The report of the Librarian was read and placed on file.
Voted: to leave to the discretion of the Librarian the matter of taking in any W.P.A.
workers to assist in making inventory of the book stock.
Voted: that the library close as usual at 8 P.M., Saturdays excepted, from June 1st until
Labor Day.
