The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on May 27th, with Miss Loring,
Mrs. Motley, Messrs. Porter, Delaney, Rowe, Cagan and Cronin in attendance.
The Secretary' s report of the meeting of April 29th was read and approved.
The report of the Finance Committee, giving summary of expenditures to date, in both the
City appropriations and the Trust Fund was presented and approved.
The Administration Committee reported that the painting of the walls in the Reference
Room and around the Circulation Desk had been completed. Voted: to accept the report.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 368 new books and the
acceptance of 85 gifts - ten for the Main Library and 75 for the Deposit Station in the Centerville
School.
Voted: that the Library close at 8 P.M., Saturday excepted, from June 1 until the day after
Labor Day.
Voted: - To omit the July and August meetings of the Board, unless called for special
purpose by the Chairman.
Voted: - to grant to Miss Preston two weeks leave of absence with pay, because of the
long illness and the death of her mother.
