The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, March
26th, at 4 p.m.; there being present of the Trustees, Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, and Messrs. Delaney,
Pond, and Cronin.
The records of the meeting of February 27th were read and approved.
The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 104 new titles and the receipt
of 115 gifts from the Estate of Miss Belle Hunt. Voted: that this recommendation be accepted.
The report of the Librarian was read and placed on file.
The statement of the Finance Committee giving a summary of expenditures to date was read
and approved; and Mr. Cronin, for Mr. Small, reported that the budget figures for the year would in
all probability be as follows: - for Salaries $20,000.00, this being $517.00 more than last year's
figures; and for Maintenance, $12,130.00 and one-half the dog tax, this being the same as for 1935.
Voted: to continue the Reading Room in the Lecture Hall for another week or two if
necessary, this to be at the discretion of the Librarian.
Voted: - that while the Library might give discarded magazines to the W.P.A. Recreational
Rooms in the school buildings, it would not be advisable to purchase new books or magazines to be
used as Library Deposits in these rooms.
Miss Loring presented Resolutions on the death of Mr. Joseph Kilham, for many years a
Trustee of the Library, and it was voted to incorporate this in the records and to send a copy to Mr.
Kilham's sisters and niece.
Voted: to have a special book plate made for the collection of books from the Estate of Miss
Hunt.
Voted: - to authorize Miss Stanton to purchase a new accession cabinet, to be paid for from
the Funds left to the Library by Miss Alice Whitmarsh of Beverly.
