Stanton Beverly, December 31, 1936 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on December 31, at 4 p.m. There were present of the Trustees, Miss Loring, Messrs. Cronin, Cagan, Rowe and Delaney. The records of the meeting of November 24th were read and approved. The Finance Committee presented for consideration the budget which had been prepared by the Committee. After discussion, it was to adopt this with one change: - that the estimated sum for dog tax be set as $400.00 instead of $600.00, thus making the amount to be asked for $33,120.80 and 1/2 the dog tax instead of $32,920.80 and 1/2 the dog tax. The Finance Committee was authorized to meet with the Mayor and Finance Committee of the City, at the proper time. Mr. Rowe was asked to look into the matter of finding a more satisfactory location for the Deposit Station at Noah Beverly and to report to the Board at a later meeting. The report of the Librarian, giving a summary of registration, circulation, certificate reading, and attendance at Story Hours was read and placed on file. The Committee on Circulation recommended the purchase of 384 new titles and the acceptance of 38 gifts. Also 10 pictures given by Mrs. Myrtle Sears. Voted: that the Secretary send a note of thanks to Mrs. Palmer for her kind voluntary service in taking books to "shut-ins" and those living at a distance from the Library.
