Stanton September 24, 1936 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held at the Library on Thursday, September 24, at4p.m. There were present, Miss Loring, Mrs. Motley, and Messrs. Delaney, Rowe, Cronin, Cagan, Porter and Pond. The records of the meeting of June 26 were read and approved. The statement of the Finance Committee, giving a summary of expenditures and balances was presented and approved. Miss Stanton presented her report as Librarian, giving details of circulation, registration, and all work accomplished during the summer months. This was placed on file. The Administration Committee made report as to specification, bids etc. for the oil heating plant at the Farms Branch, and discussed the matter of a substitute janitor at the Branch during the illness of Mr. Harrington. It was voted to allow Mr. Harrington two weeks leave of absence with pay, and to authorize the Administration Committee to deal with the question of a substitute janitor. The Committee on Circulation reported the purchase of 1320 titles and the acceptance of 1150 gifts - since the meeting of June 26th. Voted: that this report be approved. This Committee also presented, for the consideration of the Board, the proposed list of magazines for 1937. It was voted to adopt the list as read with the exception of the magazine Asia; and to submit it to the Leon C. Doble for an estimate: his price to be considered at the next meeting of the Board.
