Cagan, Porter, Cronin, Pond and Woodberry. The records of the meeting of February 28th were read and approved. The Finance Committee presented a short summary of expenditures to date, and reported that the budget had been granted: $19,483.00 for Salaries and $12,130.00 for maintenance. The proposed schedule of minimum and maximum salaries, with step increases, for the various positions on the Library Staff were then discussed in detail; and it was voted to adopt the schedule presented by Mr. Small as a definite plan for future payments to members of the Library Staff, it being understood that these figures should not effect any changes, at this date, in the salaries now being paid to members of the Staff. Voted: to incorporate in Mr. Small's schedule the present salaries for each position. It was voted that at the discretion of the Board, part time assistants working regularly for a minimum of at least thirty hours a week, should be granted two weeks vacation with pay each year, -- the amount to be paid, to be the average weekly salary of the preceding year. A letter was received from Mr. Frances Hartigan, requesting that the library Reading Room be open to the public on Sunday afternoons during the winter months. Voted: to lay the matter upon the table for consideration at some later date. In response to a note received by Miss Stanton, from Miss Beatrice Leary, asking for part time work as a Library Page, it was voted to employ Miss Leary, at 40 cts. per hour - this to be paid from the Trust Funds - to supervise the E.R.A. library workers, her days and hours to correspond with theirs. It was voted to pay for the Christian Science Monitor, for the Main Library and Farms Branch, from July 1st through December 3 1st, and to send to that Society the thanks of the Board of Trustees for the gift of that newspaper for many many years. Voted to adjourn. Adjourned. Marjorie H. Stanton Secretary
